Are you SMART?

If you follow me on social media, you will know I bang on about being SMART – but that’s because it really does work!

First things first, you can’t be SMART without a goal. Without a goal or business plan then you are going to struggle to measure how well your marketing efforts are doing and you might as well throw your money and resources into the wind.

Once you’ve got a goal you need to know how you are going to achieve it and this can be done by setting some objectives. They can be small and steady objectives or large goal busting ones, whatever suits you and your business, but make them SMART!

Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Timebound!

Be clear about what you want to achieve; set up measurements to gauge progress; make sure it’s an achievable goal; be realistic about the time and resources involved and allocate a time-frame to complete the objective.

By applying the SMART technique you will be able to monitor results and adjust accordingly if any element isn’t working. The finger in the air approach really doesn’t help measure your marketing efforts!
